The thunder cracks The thunder roars As light flashes about Pellets spread across the field Breaking and disintegrating as they rush as against the air Smoke rises and another round comes about An army clad in diverse coloured uniforms with notoriously long hats marches across Well buttoned, well-groomed, and well-maintained The profile remains clean and professional Their buttoned vests reach their knees, secured by a striped or coloured sash While complimented by an undergarment and baggy pants Though some prefer a tighter fit Moving forward, devastation comes under their wake Under drilled discipline and a straightforward cadence With the humdrum of rapid fire Harbingers of ill-fortune for those against them Heroes to those who are saved by them Tools to those who use them Yet, they stand proud with larger than life muskets Bayonets affixed from the muzzle, ready at a moment’s notice to plunge and stab They stand erect, taller than the average man or
